Joan Borton, Secretary:  Joan joined the Foundation team in the 2016-2017 school year.  She has over 20 years of experience in Marketing and Project Management.  She was the Marketing Director of Advertising and Promotions at Smart & Final and is currently at Stellar Marketing Solutions creating promotions for Southern California grocery retailers and manufacturers.  She and her husband Dan have one son who is in the 2nd grade Spanish Immersion class at John Muir Elementary.  She volunteers as Team Parent for her son’s soccer and baseball teams. She swam competitively in college and still competes at the for the Rose Bowl Masters team.






Ron Cuellar is a founding member of the John Muir Foundation and currently serves as Vice-President for the 2016-2017 school year.  He has over 15 years of Banking experience primarily in Residential and Commercial Mortgages.  He currently holds the position of Vice-President of Business Development at California Home Solution in Woodland Hills where he helps his clients finance their Real Estate properties.  He also volunteers as a Senior Youth Leader for South Hills Church in Burbank. He and his wife, have a daughter in 4th-grade Spanish immersion class at John Muir Elementary.  He enjoys spending time with his family, mountain bike riding, and skateboarding. 




Chris Laug, Treasurer.  Chris Laug joined the John Muir Elementary Foundation August, 2016 as Treasury.  Chris has a two bachelor’s degrees, one in marketing and the other in accounting from the University of Southern California and has a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University.  He is a senior manager with a local tax and accounting firm, Bessolo Haworth, LLP, specializing in high net worth individuals and families.  Chris and his wife Jaime have two daughters who attend John Muir Elementary, both of which are in the Spanish Immersion program.  Chris enjoys traveling, hiking and coaching his two daughter’s soccer teams.
